CleanCARDIO

A healthy cardiovascular system is essential for overall well-being and optimal functioning of the body. Nurturing CleanCARDIO involves understanding the key mechanisms of cardiovascular health, exploring testing options to assess cardiovascular function, and implementing strategies to support a healthy heart and circulatory system.

Why is it important to have CleanCARDIO?

  • Fuel Intake and Distribution: The cardiovascular system is responsible for the intake, transport, and distribution of fuel, primarily oxygen and nutrients, to all cells in the body. The heart pumps oxygenated blood from the lungs to the rest of the body through a network of blood vessels. The oxygen and nutrients carried by the blood are then delivered to various tissues and organs, providing the necessary fuel for cellular metabolism and energy production.

  • Toxin and Waste Elimination: The cardiovascular system also aids in the elimination of waste products generated by cellular metabolism. Deoxygenated blood, containing waste products like carbon dioxide, is transported back to the lungs, where carbon dioxide is exchanged for oxygen during respiration. The oxygenated blood is then returned to the heart to be circulated again. The cardiovascular system plays a crucial role in maintaining proper waste elimination and preventing the buildup of harmful substances in the body.

  • Movement: The cardiovascular system facilitates movement by providing oxygen and nutrients to the muscles and organs involved in physical activity. During exercise or any form of movement, the cardiovascular system increases blood flow to meet the increased oxygen and energy demands of the muscles. This allows for optimal performance and endurance during physical activities.

  • Protection and Defense: The cardiovascular system also plays a role in protection and defense through its involvement in immune function. Blood contains white blood cells, which are an essential part of the immune system. They help identify and eliminate pathogens, foreign substances, and abnormal cells to maintain the body's defense against infections and diseases. The cardiovascular system ensures the efficient circulation of these immune cells to various parts of the body to support immune responses.

How does the Cleanbody Method support CleanCARDIO?

There are three steps in the Cleanbody Method, and all of the steps support CleanCARDIO.

STEP 1: EVALUATE

It is important for you to evaluate your cardiovascular health on a yearly basis with your healthcare practitioner. In our CleanSTART program, we will support you in investigating your cardiovascular health using lab tests such as:

  • Cardiovascular Screening: Cardiovascular screening tests, such as blood pressure measurement, lipid profile assessment, and electrocardiogram (ECG), can provide valuable information about heart health and identify risk factors for cardiovascular disease. If you are in a Wellness or Medical Program, we may discuss ordering cardiovascular screening tests to assess your cardiovascular function. If you are not in a Wellness or Medical Program, you can ask your healthcare provider about cardiovascular screening options.

STEP 2: OPTIMIZE

In Step 2 of the Cleanbody Method, we support you in optimizing your Cleanbody Pillars. The following Cleanbody Pillars support CleanCARDIO:

  • CleanFOOD: Consuming a balanced diet that includes a variety of fruits, vegetables, whole grains, lean proteins, and healthy fats supports cardiovascular health. Limiting saturated and trans fats, sodium, and added sugars can help maintain healthy cholesterol levels, blood pressure, and weight. Maintaining a healthy weight reduces the strain on the cardiovascular system and lowers the risk of heart disease. Aim for a body mass index (BMI) within the healthy range and implement strategies, such as portion control and mindful eating, to support weight management.

  • CleanFIT: Engaging in regular aerobic exercises, such as brisk walking, jogging, cycling, or swimming, promotes cardiovascular fitness and strengthens the heart. Aim for at least 150 minutes of moderate-intensity aerobic activity or 75 minutes of vigorous-intensity aerobic activity per week.

  • CleanROUTINE: Monitor your blood pressure regularly and take steps to keep it within a healthy range. This may include reducing sodium intake, engaging in regular physical activity, managing stress, and following prescribed medications, if necessary.

  • CleanMIND: Chronic stress can negatively impact cardiovascular health. Implement stress reduction techniques, such as meditation, deep breathing exercises, yoga, or engaging in activities you enjoy, to support a healthy heart and overall well-being.

  • CleanENVIRO: Smoking is a significant risk factor for cardiovascular disease. Quitting smoking is one of the most important steps you can take to improve your cardiovascular health and reduce the risk of heart-related complications.

STEP 3 SUPPORT

In Step 3, we will explore additional supplements and treatments that can provide support in nurturing CleanCARDIO, if needed. While a balanced diet and lifestyle are key, certain circumstances may benefit from additional interventions, including nutritional supplements, herbs and homeopathy, advanced nutrition plans, supportive treatments, and compounded medications when available for use.
